I had two short stories come out this year - my first ever publications!
In September my short story (barely - at 7498 words…) “Giving up the Quale” was published in Fusion Fragment #8. It features insectoid scientists, a society in flux, self-surgery, of course, and that one old boss of yours you really love to hate. Charles Payseur of Quick Sip Reviews described it as: “strange, almost haunting, but beautiful and fragile as well, never stopping to fully explore the world building it hints at but never really needing to either.”
And in January, my first ever publication came out in Cauldron Anthology #12. “Notre Déesse de Paris” is my short story imagining of the Fête de la Raison of 1793, at which revolutionaries paraded real women in the guise of Neoclassical goddesses through a desecrated Notre Dame. Too good not to write about, and my great thanks to Abigail Eckstine and Courtney Burk for giving me my first ever platform for sharing my fiction with the world!
